Tonsil Free Tornado

Tornado has had strep 4 times since September has missed numerous days in school and felt down right crummy way to many  times for a spunky 7 year old..... so we ban strep from our home yesterday!  We went to see the ENT Wednesday who said well lets do this thing Friday!....btw Dr. Meads is a great ENT if ya need one we have used him twice now and have had a great experience both times.
I was surprised that we were able to do it so quickly but so glad that means no MAJOR recovery during the holidays.
Thank heavens Justin was able to get the day off and go with us, Jedi had a bad reaction to Loritab so it was not a fun experience.  I was so grateful to have my wonderful man by my side and Tornado was so relieved to have him there too.
We headed to South Towne surgical center to get the procedure done and once again had the wonderful RN Tom.  He was Jedi's RN for his tonsils and he was my RN for my procedure.  He is absolutely the best nurse to have for children he is hysterical and makes sure you understand that YOU are the most important person there and YOU make the rules not somebody havin a crappy day.
So instead of being so uptight and scared Tornado laughed her way into sleepy land.  The anesthesiologist who was also hysterical said she quite literally laughed the whole way.   Knowing your child is at ease (as much as they can be) for surgery makes all the difference in the world.
She was in and out in 20 minutes, she was awake about 15 min after that and was so excited to have her giant puppy that her bro and sister bought for her.  She was able to go home about 45 min later...What a trooper!
recovery see that big dog!

waiting after RN Tom came to visit

Her new Flip Flop!  LOL this is where they put her IV
She asked to stop for frozen yogurt so we did YUM!  She then had 2 bowls of ramen (her fave).  She ahs continued to drink consistently just like they asked her too.  she requested Chinese for dinner and ate every bit of it.  She WON'T sit still for a second...sure hope she can keep going like this and recovers as quick as she seems to be.  She is mad about missing a whole week of school. (yes I am thanking God right now for her love of school).  Here are a few pics from her event!  Thank you for the prayers!

Ouch!

It is a little delayed but all of my posts are these days.
As I have said in the past Tornado is a bit clumsy
Once again she proved it while our friends were in
town.
Here are the pics from her cartwheel into the milk can.
The funny parts of this...I know what funny part?

1.  She kept telling the ER doc I really do like staples
much better do you think we can do those instead.
2.  Her grandma the one she acts and looks like.  Was running
home around the same age and guess what?....YEP
she tripped into their milk can and cut her eyebrow too!
3.  Mom cried during the numbing (that was the worst part)
     While dad was the rock!
Dad sat and tried not to pass out during the stitching while
I watched thinkin that is so stinkin' cool!
4. She remembers all the details to how to take care including
needing sunscreen and was yelling inside for me to come "DAB"
sunscreen on her from inside while I was mowing....OR she was not
    going to go outside!

Toothless Wonder...

Tornado finally did it she lost her first tooth only two month shy of 7!  She has waited so long she has 5 loose teeth and the one that fell out isn't even one we knew about.  So soon she will have no front teeth.
She was talking to Justin and tapped her lip to think and out plopped her tooth it was so funny, she was way excited.
About 2 hours later she came to inform me that there is no tooth fairy "it is just you that puts money in my pillow and then you throw my tooth away"  I said who said that.  "Nobody, I just don't believe in fairies."
POOH!  Stole my magic!
This morning the money was there and all excitement was back on.  I am hoping me not answering the question directly will at least leave some magic for a couple more teeth.

Tornados Circus

Tornados Circus was AWESOME!  The pics are not however.  As u cans see in the bottom left pic I had a tall guys head and a BOUNCING baby Boy to compete with but we (kbug and I) tried desperately to do the best we could.
This was the best program I have ever seen...Yes I would say that if my child weren't part of it.  They had six year olds on stilts.  Clowns in between each act while they set up for the next.  The cutest lil' ringmasters you've seen.  I was truly taken back by the amount of work that the teachers and students put into this.
Now I'm not going to do anything crazy...but I sure wish I had another 1st grader to do this with!  Anybody want to loan me one for a couple of months next year?!
I recorded the whole thing it was awesome!  Can't say it enough!

Another Tornado Moment

As we sat looking through Halloween pics on facebook...Tornado spies hers.  She looks at me in all seriousness and says WOW my boobs look huge in that!
Me trying to hide my laughter says really why?  Well just look at my boobs aren't they huge in that.  But now if you look they are just flat like normal.  Why are they only big in my halloween shirt?

I couldn't hold it in any longer and burst into hysterical laughter.   It reminded me of when she was about two and swore she only had a crack in her butt when she wore her sunday dress and no other time. (that was the only time she had seen the crack in her butt, thanks to her daddy and the bathroom mirror.)

My poor poor daughter has no idea that she will not have the chance to have huge boobs because darn it, it's just not in the jeans.  What a funny girl we have.

Tornados take on Martin Luther King, Jr.

Martin Luther King Jr. day is coming up so of course the children study about it in school.  Tornado came home with a story about a movie they watched at school today, Here is her take on it....

"so there was this guy King Arthur, and he had this family and he went to jail cause he like the color black and so did this other Rose lady just cause they liked black."

"King Arthurs house was really messy so they started it on fire and his wife and kids were in there, but they got out cuz he imagined a gun in his mind"

Yep made me laugh hope it did you too.    Amazing what they really get out of what we tell them huh.  Guess I will have to go fix what she thinks she learned today.  :)

Happy Birthday Tornado!!!!

Happy Birthday Tornado. I can't beleive you are already 6 wow how time flies when your tryin' to keep up with energetic kids huh?!

Some of our favorite things about Tornado are:

The way she always has some sort of song in her head and dances to it. She started dancin' as soon as she could sit up (no joke). She would sway back and forth in her highchair and shimmey her shoulders it was so cute.

She is fistey but loving. She loves her hugs and kisses (on her time only). She loves her brother and sister, but her best friend is her bro.

She is EXTREMELY accident prone by the age of 3 she had fallen off of a 6 ft climbing wall and landed her a cool ambulance ride, and nearly drown in a swimming pool trying to take off her floaties exactly 4 weeks later, so I try to keep her away from cars as much as possible I figure that is one of the few major things that can still go wrong for her!

She loves to learn when she was three she told us she could read. She would listen and try to memorize the book so she could "read" it to herself at night.

Her favorite color is whatever color somebody elses is right now. So it is usually blue or green to match her brother or sister.

She LOVES Mama Mia that is her favorite music right now and it blares out of the bedroom the majority of the day.

Tornado Philosophy

Tornado is very much into explaining how things work or her take on things.......For example we went to the library about a month ago and she chose a book about electricity how it gets from point a to point b. It was very interesting but what 5 year old wants to know that. Then everytime we would pass something from the book she would tell me what it was and how it worked.

These are just funny ones but she just cracks me up, this is from this weekend.

Tornados take on HoHo's vs. Swiss Rolls

Wow these(hoho's) only come with in a wrap. That is like (yes she really says like) so much better. Cuz if you have two are three in a package then you might get too full to finish then you would have to eat too much or waste the food so that is really good that they decided to only do one.
Downhill bike riding 101:

Do you know why you go so fast downhill riding your bike?

Me: Why?

T: because you go down and the wind also blows downhill, so then you go wwwwwwaaaaaaaaaaayyyyyy faster!

It's time to say goodbye.....

Oh today was my last day with a Kindergartener. How bitter sweet. She had an amazing teacher Mrs. H. Thank you for all you did for her she loved your class.

She had field day on Wednesday it was tons of fun, full of bubbles, water, bouncing, candy, icecream, cupcakes, facepainting and saying goodbye. At the end when she realized tomorrow would be the last day and she was moving her heart broke in two and she sobbed. Then she picked herself up and posed for a few pics with some of her best friends....I wanted to post all the pics but man I have the slowest internet right now it would take three hours. So here are just a few.

Two Wheelin'......

We have hit yet another milestone that we won't get with another child.
Tornado came to me on Friday and said "I think we need to get rid of my extra wheels"Me: Why?Tornado: "Because I am a big girl now and I think it is time."Me: Okay (thinking maybe later tonight)Tornado: Staring very intently at my face in wonderment "right now I do"Me: OHHHHHH....And off came the wheels. She did so awesome. I think because she wanted it so bad. We kinda had to force the other two, to want to ride a two wheeler and now we can't get them off of them. She and I had a chat so that she knew she would fall, that she would get hurt and it would take some time. With that said off we went.
Being Tornado she giggled and laughed and made up songs the whole way. It was really quite funny. My hamstrings and my foot are very very sore today from chasing her around. Justin took over when he got home, phew!First thing this mornin we were at it again and she rode 4 houses before she crashed on the grass next to the tree she was saying was going to get her, instead she got it!
Way to go Tornado we are very proud of you. We are so proud of all of our children they are so amazing each day the bring smiles to our faces.
p.s. computer is down yet again. I will post pics when I get up and runnin again!

OOOOhh Big Mean Bullies!

It started out an eventful rushed day and is ending quite the same.....

Tornado has a girl in her class that is a little....well physical. If she doesn't like what you are doing or you are not paying attention to her she is prone to hitting, kickin and pushing.

8: 00 am Tornado caught her on the Pushing side of things this morning. While they were waiting for their teacher to come out to start the day. This Girl decided she would push my Tornado down on the sidewalk back first. She hit her head and cut it open.

Now the really fun part of this story is...all Tornado said to her teacher is that she pushed her, not hey my head really hurts or I really got hurt. So her teacher loves her better takes care of disciplining the other and the apologies and goes on about her day. (No harm no foul, she didn't know)

10:30 am I pick her up from school. The teacher explains what happened I say okay (in my head thing typical of this girl what a brat!)
11:00 am We go to Mimi's for breakfast with Justin's mom (Happy Bday!), who finds what we think is syrup in Tornado's hair from breakfast at school. We tease her about eating so messy. She still says nothing.....

12:00 pm we go back home to let the dog out she runs around playing, still saying nothing.

1:00 pm On our way to pick the other two up and go crossing FINALLY she says I have a cut on my head see the blood on my finger! I immediately say "WHAT!" from when she pushed me and I hit my head....(in a very duh tone)

1:10 I am freaking out ready to take down some parents that need to teach their child some manners and filing an accident report at school.

2:30 At the doctors getting some staples put in my childs head from a big bad 5 year old bully!

She was so brave didn't cry posed for a quick pic with the doctor and immediately started worrying that she missed her play day with her friend who we lovingly refer to as Hurricane.

Tornado meets Hurricane!!!!

The following children have been disguised in order to protect thier identity....THEY Think LOL.
We had a play day today with Tornado. She has this really adorable little friend and has missed her terribly through the move and bein' off track. We dropped by her house to see if we could steal her for the afternoon to play. They were so excited, I had forgotten how much alike they are....

Tornado is bad on her own, but when you combine her with Hurricane WOW, talk about a clean up session. The good of all of the is... they are excellent children and they do a wonderful job cleaning up. I would have her over any day of the week. I'm glad that her parents are so willing to let us take her to our house 2 of 3.

A day in the life of Tornado....

So just for fun, because I am out of Holiday ideas and time, I thought I would spotlight each one of my adorable hilarious kiddos. This time it is Tornado, she is always last because she is youngest so why not be first....

A day for Tornado goes like this.... Wake up sit in front of clothes swearing she has nothing to wear but a pink dress with a sweatshirt and Levis underneath and to top it all off Snow Boots.... Then we usually walk into the wall somewhere between, breakfast and getting our coat on to go to school.

Then She goes to school, complains because she has to carry her backpack(backpack for a reason right?) in one hand a drawing from a friend in the other so it is simply impossible to open the van door... then she tells me all about school and begs to go to Wendy's for a chicken burger with mayo on one bun and ketchup on the other ("so they can't mix and make fry sauce cuz it is DISGUSTING")...I say "no", so she settles for a cookie cutter sandwich with just jelly and sometimes Mayo (yeah I know it is gross).

After eating she ALWAYS has to clean her tornado of a face and generally runs into the kitchen wall or hits her head on the bathroom counter while doing so??

Then we read all the books in the house, sparing the instruction manuals for our appliances! Then she begs to play with her best friends who are inevitably at school (thanks alot Brandi! LOL).

Skipping down a few, bedtime....she swears she was first for showers last night (every night) then says okay to a bath if she can play with her doll too. She usually can't find any underwear (maybe cuz she changes it every morning and night!) So then I find some and she puts her robe on, argues with me that I didn't tie it in a double knot which translates in Tornado language to a bow.

Then it is tuck in time, she runs to her room screaming for only me to tuck her in, so of course dad runs in as fast as he can to torment and bite her cheeks good night and hold her down to throw the covers over til, I come to her rescue!

That is my Tornado, and I am not exaggerating on her running into walls, in fact she fell down the stairs twice today, hit her mouth on the edge of the coffee table and bumped her head on the counter all before 3 pm.
