First Birthday Cake it didn't last long  :)

This Year
I know that our children getting older has to happen but when they hit these big numbers it is really hard on a Moma's heart.
What to say about our Ten Year old Jedi........
Some of his favorites are. . . .
Video Games
Friends
Family time
Weather (he wants to be a weatherman)
Making people laugh
Golfing with Dad
Baby Back Ribs/Fresh Fish
Riding 4 wheelers
Fishing
Karate

Some of our favorite things about him:

His love for our family.  He really truly loves spending family time and requests it frequently.
I love how kind he is to those around him, he has a true Christlike personality.
His goofy little jokes that sometimes we dont' understand but make total sense to him.
The excitement he has in all he does and seeks.
His love for weather.
His incredible mind that seems to absorb anything Science he will go far in that line of work if he keeps it up so proud of him.
His dedication to his Karate he is going to be a Black Belt someday you watch and see.

Jedi you are one amazing Boy we couldn't be more proud of you and how you hold yourself.  We are so glad you have such a strong desire to live the way Heavenly Father wants you to.  Thank you for helping to make each day enjoyable.  I hope this Birthday is everything you ever wanted!
WE LOVE YOU. . . . . your Family

A funny brought to you by Jedi. . . .

I just had to journal this before I forget.
As I was dropping off carpool to school today, Jedi's friend asked what dance he had to do for their 4th grade program, Jedi answered (I can't remember the name).  His friend then asked if he had to dance with a girl, Jedi said yeah but we get to trade off.  His friend said well that stinks I feel bad for you, to which Jedi replied no its okay we trade of quick so there isn't time to get cooties!  Oh my gosh I laughed all the way home.
So my question to you is. . . exactly how long does it take for one to acquire cooties?  The best part was that his friend totally took this in stride like it was a true fact that there is some sort of time frame for cooties to take affect.
Boy do I love our children they are so much fun!

Jedi has earned his white belt and gi.....

Jedi had his first review for Karate.  He did a great job.  It wasn't what I was used to for a Karate review I had been to plenty with my Bro.  This was very physical very exhausting and very intimidating for me LOL.  It was physical for him he had to spar his Instructor both with sight and blindfolded.  I love his instructor throughout his entire review he told him the only way to fail is to quit just like in life.  Life will through you curve balls it isn't always fair but as you press forward roll up your sleeves and work it will be worth it.  You can only fail if you quit!  He also let him know that his belt did not define him it was just part of the path a stepping stone to finding out who he is.
Jedi did wonderful he fought his hardest and endured through it all and in the end came out smiling.  In his Karate they earn the right to wear a Gi and a white belt.  They aren't taught to defend themselves in the air they are taught real life they don't wear pads yet they do it as if life were throwing  them a curve ball it is all real.  I am confident that if somebody were to grab him today he could get free with the knowledge he was given in the last few months.
We are very proud of our little Jedi and can't wait to see him become a Blackbelt one day.

Squashin' Satan!!!

It is Jedi's turn to be sick...see we did teach our children to share AND to take turns!
He had a bit of a fever Wednesday after school but then was fine all day Thursday I made him pack a lunch for today for school so he was ready to go to school.
Well at 1 am'ish I woke up to a child staring at me trying to speak, cry or breathe either one I think he would have settled for. . . .
So I flew out of bed ran him to the bathroom turned the shower to hot and said sit here I will be back.  I remembered a friend of his had asthma his mom had told me caffeine opens the airways quickly while you get something else going.
Thank heavens I had just bought some Pepsi (love small blessings).  So I poured him a little, Justin got him some medicine I got him Vicks and there we sat in the hot steamy bathroom hoping this worked so we didn't have to make a trip to the ER.
Jedi decided a blessing was in order (thank heavens for the priesthood!)  Justin gave him a blessing and I said he could go to bed I can handle the rest now.
When Jedi finally gets a bit of a voice he says...."I think Satan is making me sick but dad just squashed him with a priesthood blessing"....Ya know even though it isn't Satan that is making him I am so glad he knows that God is there taking care of him.  What a funny kid.

Consequences. . . . .

What an afternoon.  I have expressed my feelings before about Jedi's ADD that I have recently noticed changing.  He is AL0T more energetic, than he used to be, he tends to not think before he says things.  Some I am sure is age, but some is ADD/ADHD.
Recently Church has become a big issue and I find him extremely disrespectful, which is N0T okay at all.  He keeps busy during sacrament drawing or he lays on the bench (I really don't like this but the alternative is worse).
Primary is where the BIG problem happens.  He has these wonderful primary teachers that are so kind and loving and he can't sit still for any longer.  I feel so bad for them, they shouldn't have to deal with it.
Today after church K.bug informed me that he was standing on his chair jumping running up to the front to give answers and just being loud and disruptive.
How did I feel. . . . Mortified, Sad, Angry, but most of all like a crappy Mom!  My child is having a terrible time controlling his behavior, he is 9 with ADD he does try.  We took him off his meds for the summer because we didn't want to suppress who he is we wanted him to have a normal energetic summer.
He let me know today he is ready to go back on and he thinks he needs them on Sundays too because he is having a REALLY HARD time sitting still and listening.
Wow I thought, you are so smart, I wish you would have told me sooner, but I will call the dr. in the morning and get his meds filled.
Now for the consequence of his actions. . . . because he will eventually have to learn to control himself and society doesn't give him a get away free ADD card.  He needs to learn.
He is now writing a letter to the adults in the primary that he was disrespectful to.  He will deliver them tomorrow and also tell them in person how sorry he is.  Why the letter then?  Because he is emotional and does feel extremely bad for the way he behaved, so he will cry and I want them and him to understand how important this is.
Is that enough I hope so.  I should have been more in tuned with my child to know that he was struggling, I should have caught this before he was so disrespectful and out of control.  I think it is time for me to take a look at what I am spending my time doing!

Wow how time flies!  I can't believe you are 9 already.  I remember that first scream in the hospital that let me know that I was in for one stubborn little boy.  But ya know I never would have guessed what a loving caring generous little boy you would turn out to be.

I hope you have the most incredible day!  We love you!

Giggles and finds humor in the small stuff
Wants to be a rock star when he grows up because "its safer"
Protects his sisters.

Has a desire to live the Gospel and share it with others.

Cub Country

Jedi and I had so much fun at Cub Country, well probably he more than I.  There is just somethin' so fun about watchin your children have fun with friends and learn knew things.  I was so grateful to be able to go both days.  More the first than the second, only because I froze to death the second day...BBBBRRRRRR!

He was able to shoot a BB gun, launch a paper rocket, Archery, leather working, obstacle courses, knot tying and so much more.  The boy in our den are just the cutest kids they all have wonderful manners and looked out for each other.  We only have three so they made sure that they took turns being partners.   I was lucky enough to hang out with both of their Mom's while I was there too.  They are such awesome ladies there is a reason their children are so great!

Truly was a great experience and I hope I can go next year.  Here are some pics...these are for the second day I get the Mommy award for forgetting my camera the first day.  Thank Heavens my friend brought hers and she is a much better photographer!

First pic is the leaders doin the hand thing and the leg thing, then they did the "lip thing" most scouts were closin their eyes in disgust!  So funny!
Pic 3 is the boys launchin their rocket and watchin it come back down

This hat was for a skit he was the lil' Sister.                                He hit the target!!!!!

Minute to Win It Pack Meeting

It was Jedi's pack meeting last night it was very fun we have a great committee they are so creative.  Each cub had to bring a Minute to Win it game.  They had to demonstrate and then pick two audience members to complete them.
Jedi chose Blind Ball you had to find at least 2 balls in 1 minute blind folded without letting more than one ball hit the ground.  It was very fun.  One boy chose one that you had to get 10 cotton-balls from one table to another using no hands and just Vaseline on your nose.  HYSTERICAL that is what the pic of Tornado is.
Another boy chose the Magic Carpet you had to scoot in a figure 8 around chairs forward and back.  That is the one Jedi and K.bug were chosen for.
I on the other had was chosen for the Junk in your Trunk  (yeah I know how fitting LOL).  It was seriously so much fun.  You had to wear an empty tissue but on your rear and try to bounce twist and shake 8 ping pong balls out.  Oh yeah and my neighbor got it on video sorry I can't grace you with that at this time.

Start Your Engines VRRRROOOMMMMMM!

Top Five Derby Moments:
1.  Mom gets to witness a special father son bond.

2. Watching their excitement as they gear up for the first race (hands sweating)

3. Winning ANY award (the most unique car - because it was a truck!)

4.  And after all that hard work actually placing in the race!  (he took 3rd along with one of his friends they just couldn't break the tie!)

Oh yeah whose the man now!  Our little stud!  Aren't the trophies awesome my incredible neighbor made them and it proudly displays the car (or truck).

Why a truck because it looks like dads except he forgot to put the scratch in it from when the darn mailbox ran into me a couple of years ago!

Jedi's School Work.....

So Jedi has turned into such a character.  He makes us laugh so hard with the most random things he says.  He has become quite serious but the things that come out of his mouth are just hysterical.  These things have spilled over into his daily work at school.  Here is something to make you laugh and brighten your day.....

Draw Conclusions - Ask Questions
#4 Does your conclusion make sense? Explain why.
Yes Because its in the story.

#5 Tell how asking questions helped you make a good conclusion.
You get ansraws

Details in a story
#2 Is this detail important?
Its in the story isn't it.

How his teacher grades his paper without bustin a gut is beyond me.

Baptism Day

Jedi's baptism was wonderful it was such a cool experience to watch him make this decision on his own and be so excited about it. Now things can't go off without a little humor when Jedi is involved. During the talks that his Dad and Uncle Ty had given he found ways to make us giggle and be amazed at how much he understood and knew.
The real humor came when he went into the baptismal font and was baptized he decided that he really like the water and started swimmin his way out instead of walking. He is such a fun boy we are so blessed to have him.
Enjoy some of the pics from the slideshow.

Happy Birthday Jedi!!!!!!!

2009

2008
2007
2006

2005

2003

Born: July 30 2001
Weight: 7.2 lbs 18 in long
Jedi came into this world fast, he was apparently very excited to get here and meet everybody, from the first contraction he was here in 3 hours. He was full of energy from the first second and never required much sleep. (yeah poor mom).
Our little boy isn't so little anymore. He is turning 8, how and when did this happen. Some of the things I remember and love about Jedi.....

As a baby he was a cuddler and still is.

He loved big trucks he would quite frequently sit in the back of his tonka trucks and go for a ride.

He LOVED to be naked. It was really hard to find a pic with clothing on.

He is and always has been FULL of energy and laughter. We could make him laugh at anything.

He is very thoughtful of others. He makes sure he tells you how much he loves you everyday and tries his hardest to be very polite to everybody around him.

Family is his most important possession....just ask him why he doesn't like school (because it takes from family time ha ha ha)

Jedi is an amazing boy we are very blessed to have him in our home. He and I had a rough few first years, I am impatient and so was he, but we made it and he has turned into a spectacular kid. I can't wait to see what this year has in store for him.

Jedi.. what more can I say...

So I woke up to my hilarious little Jedi like this last Monday. He is such a funy child, so picky about what he will wear and then he creates this little ensemble all on his own. I love it. His great Grandma brought him this hat and he has loved it forever, in fact he had to bring it with us to live at this Grandma's house.
Grandma M. Called him Davey Crocket and he said no it's just me.... It was cute.

A day in the life of Jedi

Our Little Jedi, well he isn't so little anymore and he would probably protest to that. Hmm what to say about this big hearted kid we brought into this world. . . .

He is usually the first one up and dressed in the morning, always anxious to start a new day, I think it's because he knows the more he starts the closer the weekend is to play with his dad. He loves the fact that because I work in the morning that he gets to eat breakfast at school, he also loves pizza and hamburger day at school so he makes sure he gets hot lunch that day.

His favorite pair of shoes tends to be Snow boots, quick story with this one, when he was 4 we put him in indoor soccer, he was really excited they called for a meet the coach day, so we ran him up thinkin' a quick 15 min. meeting Ha ha. I sent Justin in and they ended up playing a game that day, the best part of the story is this was right after Napoleon Dynamite came out and our Jedi was in his Moon boots playing soccer, only he was playing spiderman while everybody ran around him to get the ball.

He loves his school teacher, she is the best and nicest he says. He looks forward to the end of the day to get his homework done and get right to his 1 hour of Video game play. His favorite Game.... Can anybody guess, yes anything with Star Wars in the title. He usually tries to save his time so Justin can play with him, but sometimes he has to give that time to a friend.

If you hum the tune of the theme music he perks right up or if somebody mentions the names of the characters he is right by your side talking your ear off. So basically Jedi lives and breathes Star Wars. He was having a rough time reading, once we got him a couple Star War books he was on his way.

He really loves to be friends with everybody, he is his little sisters best friend and is usually reserved in his opinion unless you mess with his friends or his sisters.

So a day for Jedi consists of school, star wars, homework, star wars, star wars, video game, star wars, star wars, bedtime. That is our lil' Jedi!
