We have been remodeling rooms....So much fun and on a shoestring...Because well Mama is a cheap girl! So an old piece of cardboard some nut cans a cookie tin from and a sprinkle jar all from the Christmas season turned into......
This Wall here....In K.bugs room which she chose to be a Movie Star Room! We also found a cute picture holder at Ikea for 1.50 and bedspreads for 16.00 at Target by chance that ALL matched the colors they chose for their rooms!
Picture Born to Shop in style from Home Goods my awesome friend found while she was shoppin in SL.
Curtains are upcycled from some old satin sheets I have had for a few years and never used...I hate chasin my pillow in the middle of the night! Our Builder left us with some leftover wood and shelving pieces so I asked my wonderful handy man Hubby to cut it up a lil' for me and we made this fun Clapboard Chalk board to leave messages on for eachother....Love how it turned out!
Also found some Red Pillows at Target 2 for $8.00 not too shabby! Zebra striped Pillowcase a whole 1.50 at Ross. Magnet board as seen on the wall another upcycle from one we had before tore off old paper rummaged through neglected scrapbook stuff, and K.bugs sewing supplies and voila a matching magnet board. She also has Some posters that I have failed to take pics of ...Marylin Monroe, James Dean and Audrey Hepburn. I did all the vinyl myself there is a cute little copy shop here (Digidocs) that makes vinyl signs and sales the scraps to us Cricuters!
B's Room
B chose a Fashion designer room, because that is what she loves right now. So we upcycled her magnet board also but hers is covered in a Christmas sparkle bag turned out fun. Zebra pillow case from Ross 1.50 bedspread Target Princess pillow courtesy of her awesome Sis.
Vinyl again from scraps at Digi docs and cut on my Cricut, Frames upcycled from old ones here I added some Zebra fabric we had from making some balls and a flower from old adventures turned out cute. Pic was picked up by that awesome friend of mine thanks again!
These frames were upcycled from my Bro in laws wedding a couple years ago command hooks I spray painted black and used some old ribbon we had lying around that of course has sparkles...The background in the frames you ask? Upcycled from B's old dress ups she was finished with! I love the way it turned out! She also has a New York sign from Ross 1.40 and one on her bed that says Fashion also 1.50 from Ross.
Memo Board from Ross 4.50...Gotta love Ross Those are her clothing designs not bad huh!
Jedi's Room
I am really excited about Jedi's room they have come out with these new Scripture Hero Posters that are just awesome...I have to admit this is not my idea I got it from a friend who got it from a friend :) but I love it. His wall says Put on your whole armor of God...Great reminder everyday of what we should be doing. At the bottom of each poster it tells the story of each hero. Right now he has Joshua at Jericho and Mothers of the Strippling Warriors (which he said he got because it reminded him of me awwwweeee) And Heleman which I didn't get a pic of ....because it is missing on poster by it and it bugs me LOL. We found the shield in his toy box oh yeah upcycle and the sword at the dollar tree for yes....a buck both hung with command hooks that I spray painted with some left over gold paint from a previous project! his bed was not made so he does have a brown and tan bedspread from target. I love their rooms they are fun, can't wait for my room's turn!
pps dying to try to make a headboard out of a door, need to get the guest room done before I can though.....hmmm if only I had skills LOL

Way to go Kids!
Our children worked so hard this year so we decided to reward them. We don't do stuff like this very often and they were so excited they played outside with them til 9:00 that night.

Field Day.....AGAIN!

Today was Jedi and K.bugs field day and once again the Firetrucks were unable to come. But really the kids didn't care as long as they were able to get soaked to the bone. It was really hot and we were all ready to get wet at the end of the two hours. I am getting so excited for school to be over. The kids aren't really but I sure am. I really enjoy having them around they are all so much fun and say the cutest things.
I am trying to decide if I want to share this story, and I think I will.....he is too young to be embarrassed yet.
We went to visit with my Grandparents this afternoon since they were in town from St. George. While picking cherries Jedi kept grabbin at himself I kept askin' him if he needed to use the bathroom and he would irritatedly answer me and say "No!" Finally after the 5th or 6th time of me asking he said, "Mom it is just stuck and it bothers me...." As my grandma hides her face in laughter I am just shocked. Ya know that never occurred to me that, that was his problem. After he walks away my Grandma says, maybe you should get him some powder for that duh...My grandma is so funny.
So when I tell Justin the story he says, "yeah it sucks, but powder would just turn into wet flour after ya sweat so that won't do him any good." Boys sure have a crappy set of hardware if you ask me! It just gets in the way during sports and apparently it sticks to ya. I'll take my hardware and you can keep yours, well except those long road trips with no potty, then it would be really handy!
The pics are of the kids with some of their best friends. Jedi and this little boy sit next to eachother and get along great he is such a sweet kid. The one K.bug is with they have been friends since Kindergarten and I just adore this kid, I keep tellin' her I am arranging her marriage and she is to marry him when they turn 25 (or later) as long as he keeps his same attitude and personality!

"Bad S"
So ya know when you are deep in thought or elbow deep in dishes or what not that you get deep in while you are a mother and you hear your child say something and you pray it isn't what you thought they said?....
That is exactly what happened yesturday while doing homework. There we sat around the kitchen table doing our math reading and english. Tornado was tracing her letters and Jedi and K.bug were both doing their never ending math packets (so they think). When all of a sudden Tornado yelled in her most frustrated voice "WHAT A BAD S" Well you can only imagine what I thought she said. My chin is still bruised from hitting the table when it fell open.
Only when I seen her erasing like a mad woman did I realize that she said S not A**. Phew wipe the brow. Then laugh hysterically at the fact that I heard wrong and she was so confused as to why I was staring at her like that. She then says "don't worry mom I can fix it." What a silly girl.
On the subject of homework. Jedi and I got into it the other day, they teach children how to do double digit math so retarded now (yeah cuz it isn't my way). Here was the problem....89+29= Well he kept getting a lower number than 29 HELLO it is addition that is impossible! For 45 minutes we argued and I threatened to throw him away. I finally convinced him of the right answer kind of and we moved on. Thank heavens there wasn't another one.
Why do they have to screw up perfectly good things...If it ain't broke don't fix it!

School Days
Wow. It is here already. Makaydee and Corbin started school yesturday. It came so fast. It was a very exciting morning, they put on their special outfits, ate a harty breakfast (ha ha yeah right CEREAL), Grabbed their new backpacks and sat there for another 30 minutes. Yes folks they were ready in 15 minutes, that will be the last time for the rest of the year that it happens. So I feel the need to document it.
Their teachers are amazing. I am so excited to see how much they learn and grow this year. Each teacher teaches because she loves it not because it is her only source of income (not that that makes a bad teacher) What I am trying to say is they are not burnt out.
Braeda had a hard time, because she doesn't start until Monday, so we are making the most out of the few days we have left.
Today we did her kindergarten assessment. She was so cute and giggly. Her teacher is fresh out of college and has so many fresh ideas and is so excited, (hopefully that will stay true when she has 25 5 year olds!)
I have found though excited for the time to myself. I really am not sure what I am going to do with 3 hours all my own. I have been a mommy all day long for 9 years and now I have to be ME for 3 hours. What in the world do you do for three hours EVERYDAY!
I will survive, I think I will actually have time to read again!
