Once there was a child named Mary. She had brown hair and blue eyes. Mary was wrapping presents, she had wrapped one of her dad and then one for her mom. Next she asked her mom to take her shopping for the giving tree. She bought a teddy bear, Sally doll, art stuff, play dough, baby doll crib, and a chest. Then she wrapped everthing and stuck it in the chest. she stuck the chest on her wagon and took it to the bishops house. So he could give it to the children who needed more than her. The bishop thanked Mary. The next day was Christmas Eve. She baked cookies so she would be ready for Christmas the next day. That night she went to sleep and when she woke up there was the doll she wanted sitting by the tree. After she was done opening all her presents she had a feeling that she needed to go next door and give that family some cookies, and the little girl the doll that she got from Santa. She came back in five minutes witha smile on her face. That night she told her parents, "this was the best Christmas ever, because she helped those kids and that family." I hoped that you learned to give always and not when its just Chrristmas.
I was so proud of her to really understand what Christmas was about. It isn't about recieving but giving of the "gifts" you have been given. Whether it be time, talent or money. My only wish this Christmas is that all of my children will learn this and keep it with them always. It is then that they will make the biggest difference in this world. And I know that God is smiling upon us when we put others needs before our wants.
Have a merry Christmas!
